Join us for an exciting excursion behind our mighty T-1 steam locomotive #2102! This excursion will traverse the Reading Division of our Main Line between Reading Outer Station and Jim Thorpe, PA. During the layover, passengers will have almost 4 hours to explore town, photograph #2102, meet the crew, and experience a ride on our Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway!

Itinerary

Departure Time

Reading Outer Station: 9:00 a.m.

Port Clinton Station: 9:45 a.m.


Arrive at Jim Thorpe: by 11:50 a.m.

Depart Jim Thorpe: 3:45 p.m.

Return Time

Port Clinton Station: by 6:30 p.m.

Reading Outer Station: by 7:00 p.m.

Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to your departure time to allow time for parking, check-in, and boarding.


Free parking is available at Reading Outer Station and Port Clinton Station.


  • Reading and Northern only has 2 steam engines. We have no backup.

    Everybody realizes that mechanical machines built by human beings can fail. Therefore, the railroad works very hard to make sure that we maintain our steam engines to the highest quality.

    However, if something unforeseen happens beyond the railroad's control, these trips will be diesel.
